    Jim: I just now saw your posting (Today is 12/29/17) . Thanks so much for the info. I have Tonsetic's book and I'll check it out. Did you also operate west of this area in the area they called the Pineapple? Jim: I know some of the guys from the 199th and have been to two of their reunions in DC. I spent most of my three tours in Cau Xang which is about 10 km west of this site on QL-10. Cau Xang was the only Ville between Ba Hom and Duc Hoa.     Nitehawk: I believe that APC is the one Tonsetic writes about at page 233 of his book "Days of Valor". The APC was from Delta Troop, 17th Cav, 199th Light Infantry, destroyed with lose of life on May 7, 1968. A 199th soldier Leonard Sargent, rescued several crew members and received the Silver Star.     Just looked this page for the first time in three years. In the meantime, I have found that Binh Tri Dong and another identified engagement in the same area at Ap Tan Thanh are either different names for the same battle or concurrent events. I can't tell for sure. In any case, there is an extensive discussion of the Ap Tan Thanh battle in "Days of Valor" by Robert Tonsetic beginning at page 218. (The book reports that I was wounded - not so. I was wounded later in the summer.) That APC (and the location) certainly seem to the same as the one I spoke of. Jim Macy
